What is the recipe for successful employer brand strategy?
The essence of a brand is knowing and consistently living your business's authentic stories so that management, sales, marketing, customer service, all employees within your organization - synchronize their behaviors and messages in a compelling way that is meaningful to anyone interacting with them. Brand is a story about people who have moved in some direction and are inviting you to join and be part of their story.
If you have no employer brand activities you do not have to worry - because your employer brand already exists - it just may not be perceived what you would want it to be. Therefore, it is a very important step to first understand what your employer brand is to be able to start working on the strategy and management of that brand.
We like to say that the employer branding is a constant quest to understand these 3 elements:
Employer branding should be done as a multi-department project lead by PM or HR department.
Strong employer brand strategy can not be imposed by the company's management or the HR director - by defining the activities they personally consider to solve a particular business problem. The employer brand strategy needs to be alligned with the business strategy and goals, but all the elements that one wants to influence need to be discovered.
